Catching Up (Lots of Pics)

Testing is over, y'all!  I know my NC 3rd grade friends are shouting, "AMEN," with me right now!  It's been a long couple of weeks, finishing up Read to Achieve portfolios and testing some of our 3rd grade friends three times!

So since testing is over and it's the night before my last day of school, I thought I'd catch y'all up on what I've been up to!

My kiddos worked for a few weeks on their skeletal system projects, which you can find the project menu here for FREE!  They had a blast completing these projects and I was so impressed with the quality of their work.  One little group of gals even made their own duct tape sling to go along with their skit about a broken arm...love that creativity!

Well then it was about time for testing so we did a few things to calm our nerves.  We started by writing acrostics using the word READY (part of our state test's name) to remind ourselves of strategies and to do some positive self-talk.

Then we did another little activity to help conquer our fears about testing (3rd grade is the first year for state testing here in NC so the kiddos get pretty anxious).  They had a blast!

When testing was through, I rewarded my kiddos with these treats.  (The candy watches were from Dollar Tree...the kids LOVED them!)

After the initial testing dates, my family went on a quick beach day trip!  My little beach bums had a fantastic time!
Then last Friday we had our class end of year celebration and we played lots of fun games from Tonya's Minute to Win It free pack!  It was seriously the BEST. CLASS. PARTY. EVER.
Finally, I joined the rest of y'all bloggy peeps and started a One Happy Teacher Instagram account!   I don't know why I waited so long but I love it...I love seeing what's going on in my bloggy friends' lives! Please follow me on Instagram...I can't wait to start sharing more often over there!
