Classroom Reveal {FINALLY}

Happy Sunday, friends!  I hope y'all are off to a great start this school year!  I have been blessed with the most amazing group of preschool kiddos and we are having a blast! We've had 3 full weeks of school so far and I just realized that I never showed you my space.

Before I show you the room, there are a few things you should know:
1. The room is long and narrow (and not all that big).
2. My space is shared with lots of other ministries at our church so I had to be intentional about where I placed things.
3. A mini blind is missing but has since been replaced (so the lighting in the pics isn't that great!)
4. I am so thankful for all of the awesome products available on TPT!!! They saved me lots of time!

Ok, so here we go!  First up is the calendar area.  We spend a lot of time with our morning meeting, singing/dancing, and working on calendar concepts.  This calendar set is in my TPT store and you can click here if you are interested.  The numbers below the board are from Nicole Bunt's store!

 Next to the calendar is this canvas painting.  I first spotted it on Etsy and knew I had to have it!  It's my theme verse for my classroom and students!  If you like this, check out Megan's shop, On the Bright Side Art!

Here's the rest of the calendar area and Cara Carroll's adorable Alphabet Anchor Charts (LOVE THEM!!!)
Next up is my Word Wall.  I've seen lots of people use ribbon and it seems like an easy way to attach words.  I'm excited to see how it goes (and I need to straighten it up some, haha!)
Then I saw this super cute idea to use clipboards to display student work from A Year of Many Firsts and thought it would be a great addition to my classroom!

And here's my birthday board that I think it sooo super cute (especially with the pom poms I added to their party hats)! I bought it from Multiage Moments!

And here is my whiteboard area with my little makeshift tree and behavior chart!
 Last up is one of the owl lanterns that you've already seen if you follow me on Instagram (and if you don't, find me here!)
So that's a little peek at where I am spending my mornings (Tuesday-Thursdays)!  We are off to a great start and I am loving the Pre K world!  What's one thing that's going really well for you this year?  I'd love to hear from you!

Five for Friday {It's Been Awhile}

Hey y'all!  It's been a hot minute since I last blogged and you've probably forgotten all about my little blog.  If you follow me on Instagram, then you've seen some of what I'm up to!  If you don't follow me, be sure to follow me there as I'm much better at updating it than this!!!

So anyways, I figured linking up with Kacey for Five for Friday was the easiest way to let y'all know what I've been up to for the last month! {WARNING-Picture overload!!!}

The main thing I've been doing is enjoying family time this summer.  Part of the reason I quit my full time teaching job was to be able to focus on family more.  We've taken a few day trips to the beach and spent a week camping in Tennessee.  We had a blast!  We went through Cades Cove almost every day.
My boys loved looking for turkey, deer, and bears.  In our family, it's a tradition that if you see a bear, you get an ice cream cone.  We may or may not have had ice cream cones every night, lol!
 While we were in Tennesse, we took lots of hikes, bike rides, and swam in the river.  We also decided to take the boys to Dollywood!  (If you've never been there, it is sooo nice!)  It was their first time at an amusement park and they had a terrific time!  I forgot how much I enjoy rides too.  Here's me and my little guy on the ferris wheel:

So after the trip (where we may or may not have eaten ice cream nightly), my hubby and I decided we had to get our eating habits and lifestyle back on track (and not just because of our vacation).  I read the book It Starts with Food while we were away and so we decided to tackle the Whole 30!

After reading the book, I also I did a bunch research and created a meal plan to keep us on track.
Then I went shopping for healthy foods and a food processor (which I've used a ton...don't know how I lived without one before).
 And now we're on Day 12 and we are feeling AMAZING!  And we are eating well...this was a fav dinner Paleo Meatballs over Spaghetti Squash!!!  YUM!  Can't wait to share my results when I'm done.

I was also super busy working with two other ladies to plan, create, and decorate for our church's Vacation Bible School.  It was Lego themed and we wanted kids to understand that God is the Master Builder and we are his masterpieces.
 Here were our "Lego" walls...easy decoration that made lots of impact!

VBS was fantastic and the kids had such fun!  The song "Everything is Awesome" was our theme song (we revised it some to be about God) and is still being sang loudly in my house! Here are a few of the crafts the kids made:
 And every kiddo went home with a picture from our "photo booth" and with a T-shirt (and yes he has on shorts, the smallest t-shirt was big on him!!!)

I've done a little (itty bitty bit of) crafting this summer.  I made this for a sweet friend who shares the same birthday as me!

 And we had some church friends moving and we gave them a bucket of trail mix as a little goodbye goodie.

This week my oldest went to his Kindergarten assessment and we had his Open House where he got to meet his sweet teachers.  I can't believe how fast he is growing!!!

Well I hope you've enjoyed the update!  I hope to be back soon with some actual teaching blogging stuff!!! =O)

Until then, I'll leave you with a sneak peak from my Pre K room!  I hope to get some more pics of it up soon.

Monday Made It {And A Quick Giveaway}

Happy Monday y'all!  Wow, I really thought that I was going to be posting lots this summer but let's face it...the summertime can be just as hectic as the school year (just in a totally different, wonderful way!)  We've had lots of playdates, library trips, pool time, get togethers, and late nighters.  Plus I'm helping plan my church's VBS so I've been spending a lot of time on that (and can't wait to show you some of the cool stuff we'll be making!)

Even though it's been cray-cray lately, I do have a couple of things that I wanted to share with y'all and I'm linking up with the amazing Tara for her Monday Made It!!!

My first set of Made Its was for an ladies' event at my church.  You can sign up to be a table hostess for each event and part of your responsibility is to decorate it.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of my table all decorated because when I came out of my house to leave I had a flat tire and was almost late for the event!  I did still want to share a few of the decorations that I made/put together for the table.  It was a fun night and as always, I left feeling encouraged and refreshed!
All of my decorations were super easy and didn't cost much at all!  I found the mason jars with handles at Dollar Tree.  I wrapped them with laminated burlap (so much easier to cut!!) and hot glued a little burlap flower (I got 6 of them at Michaels for around 75 cents)!  The middle picture shows the arrangement that I made to put on the table...I love the chicken wire holder...it was on sale at Michaels too!  The last picture shows the glass votives that I wrapped with a little bit of laminated burlap...a simple touch but looked great!

My next Made It is my Chevron Calendar Math Set!  I've been working on this thing for awhile now for my Pre K team to use and am so glad to finally have it ready.

The preschool that I'll be teaching at only has class three days a week for three hours so we are going to pack as much as we can into our calendar time to help our kiddos gain important skills to be ready for Kindergarten!  I'm really excited to use this and I'd love to give a copy of it away for you to use.  Just follow me on Instagram at One Happy Teacher (comment below with your Instagram name and your email) and I'll use a random number generator to pick a winner tomorrow!  If you don't want to wait, the product is half off for 24 hours so you can grab it for just $5!!!

Have a marvelous Monday friends!

Monday Made It {Summer Week 5}

Good Morning, y'all!  If you've been reading any of my posts lately, you know I've been enjoying a leisurely summer (and I hope that you are too)!  But now that July is almost here, it's kinda hit me that I need to get in gear and be somewhat productive this summer!  So I've gotten a few little projects completed that I wanted to share with you and I'm linking up with the fabulous Tara for her Monday Made It!

This past school year was a busy one and my house was getting seriously out of control!  I've been slooooowly going through my boys' rooms, tackling their dressers, closets, and endless supplies of toys (hello, Goodwill!).  The worst place though was their playroom.  I mean it literally looked like a Toys R Us exploded in there.  So I whipped up some little tags to label some of the baskets we used to organize toys (I mean we do this stuff at school, y'all, why not do it at home too, right?).

Another thing that was getting out of control was all of our paper piles.  I am super sentimental and want to save everything but let's face it, if it's faded or missing pieces, well it just needs to go.  I've seen lots of organization systems for keeping up with kids' stuff through the years but I decided to stick with the way I organize papers in my classroom.  So I created file boxes for each of my kids.  And I was totally inspired by Krista Wallden's freebie school clip art!  It's a pretty simple concept for a memory box (and I know some stuff won't fit) but it's a great start to organizing special keepsakes!

Finally, the last Made It is a FREEBIE for all of you (just click on the pics)!  The last school year required me to rely on my faith even more than ever and I often had specific Bible verses that I turned to for encouragement.  So I put together this scripture ring to keep in my classroom this upcoming year to encourage and uplift me.  I hope they do the same for you!  (And thanks to Megan for the adorable background papers that I used, you can get them here!)  I think they'd make adorable back to school gifts for your teammates too!

Have a blessed day!!!

Amazing Giveaway {Win a $10 Shopping Spree to My Store and Much More}

Hey y'all!  Crazy how on a Sunday night during the school year I'd be in bed by now.  But since it's summer, the night is just beginning, haha!  Is it just me or are y'all staying up much later?  It just seems like such a treat to be able to stay up late with no school in the morning!  Yay!

So when I've been staying up late, I've been doing a lot of pinning, reading blogs, and finding new stores to follow on TPT, especially since I'll be teaching Pre-K next year.  Speaking of TPT, the awesome Tabitha of Totally Sweet Math Centers is celebrating having 1,000 TPT followers.
